Hope in Education

Almost 30 years ago we had a vision of what Hope would provide for the disadvantaged children who arrived at our door. We pledged to provide them with care, a safe environment and an education that would equip them for adult life. We built a village, staffed it with some amazing people and invited the children in (Check out our website for the full history- www.hopeindia.org). Our ambitions for the children were to ensure that they would all find employment once their school days were over in as good a field as was possible. We did not allow for the ambitions of our children!!!!

Recently one of our girls has been accepted into Medical School, a 6 year course, which will culminate in her becoming a doctor! This was a young girl who arrived at Hope in 2003 as a 10-month-old baby and it's fair to say she has grabbed all the opportunities presented to her with both hands and we couldn't be prouder.

It must come as no surprise that the cost of funding these ambitious aims is significant and not a cost that we originally anticipated. Which is why we are launching a new initiative - HOPE IN EDUCATION We are looking for sponsors who would specifically sponsor a child through his/her further education helping us to help the children reach their potential.

This would be a short term commitment which would cease on completion of the course and the child obtaining employment. Though a very rare occurrence, it may happen that a course embarked upon may not be suitable. In such cases, children are helped to choose an appropriate, achievable alternative. The sponsorship could be for any amount per month but can we suggest you consider a minimum of £20. This would help to cover some of the accommodation costs as well as helping us purchase all the equipment they would need to be able to complete the chosen course.

Alternatively, you may wish to make a one off donation to cover a particular cost - course fees, equipment, food and lodging, for example. Simply complete the enclosed form and state your donation is a single contribution.

In return you will receive regular reports of progress on how they are coping with life away from the Village. You will also have the knowledge that you have significantly contributed towards changing their life. You will have helped him/her reach heights that they could never have imagined when they first walked through our gates as frightened young children.

THANK YOU!!!!!
