Sreekutty, Sreekuttan and Richu

These children  lost their father. Their mother had no choice but to take a job as a live-in housemaid. She was allowed to keep her daughter. Her two boys came to Hope. They were able to keep in touch with their mother and sister.  Hope financed Sreekutty through nursing school. Sreekuttan is now a chef at a top class hotel. Richu is an air-conditioning mechanic. The children now rent an apartment which they share with their mother.

Biju, at about 5 years of age was one of the first arrivals at Hope. His mother brought him to Hope after the loss of his father. After spending his younger years at Hope he went on to study for a degree in engineering and applied science. He now has an excellent job with an I.T. company. He was able to save enough to get a place of his own. His first task was to bring his mother to live with him.

Hard times, good times

Two sisters and a brother came to Hope recently. Father is in prison. Their mother worked at a hospital sitting with patients. The children lived on the veranda of the hospital with other rough sleepers. The children were malnourished and were not attending school. They were brought to Hope.  They are now clean, well-nourished and happy together in their new-found family at Hope.

We have permission from the children and adults to tell their story.
